SECTION XIII
Supplemental Rules and Regulations
Supplemental team rules and regulations specific to a sport may be developed by individual coaches
and must be approved by the building athletic coordinator and building principal or designee.
Additionally, any athlete-specific plans or behavior contracts must be approved by the building athletic
coordinator or Director of Athletics prior to implementation.
These supplemental rules typically define expectations related to attitude, effort, attendance,
cooperation, team standards, and criteria for earning a varsity letter award. All supplemental rules must
be in writing and distributed to student-athletes and families at the start of the season.
Failure to Comply: Failure to abide by the approved supplemental team rules may result in disciplinary
action as outlined by the coach. Within the boundaries of this Athletic Student Handbook and the team’s
approved rules, the coach may suspend or remove a student-athlete from participation.

A student suspended from school (as defined in the Troy School District Code of Conduct) is
ineligible to participate in any athletic practices or contests during the duration of the suspension.
A student who is academically ineligible may be permitted to continue practicing with the team at
the coach’s discretion but may not compete in contests or scrimmages.
Any student-athlete who is dismissed from a team for the remainder of the season will forfeit
eligibility for any team awards or varsity letters for that sport season.
