Traveling to and from Away Contests
Athletic Transportation Policy
All student-athletes are expected to travel with their team when district transportation is provided to and
from away athletic contests using school-provided transportation, including school-owned, chartered,
or otherwise approved vehicles. This policy is in place to ensure the safety, supervision, and
accountability of all team members.
Per the Troy School District FinalForms Transportation Agreement, students may only leave an athletic
contest site with a parent, legal guardian, or an adult family member after the event if:

Prior written permission has been granted through FinalForms
The coach has received and approved the request in advance of the event
Any student-athlete who does not return to their home school with the team and departs a contest
without prior approval and proper communication will be considered in violation of team and district
policy.
In limited and approved circumstances where district-provided transportation is not utilized, the coach
is responsible for documenting the departure through a signed “sign-out” form or approved sign-off list
to ensure accountability and student safety.
Failure to Comply
• First Violation: The student will be deemed ineligible for the next scheduled contest but may
continue practicing with the team.
• Second Violation: The student may be removed from the team for the remainder of the season, at
the discretion of the athletic department in consultation with the coach and building
administrator.
