007952 Intro to Physical Activity (Level 1)
007962 Intro to Physical Activity (Level 2)

*Choose either course 007952 or 007962. Students cannot take both courses for credit.
The completion of either one of these courses is required for graduation. The course will include CPR training, physical
fitness, swimming testing, and team sports. Level 1 (007952) is a low-impact fitness and conditioning along with lesscompetitive activities that will be the foundation of the Level 1 Introduction class. Individualized activities and fundamental
skills will also be emphasized. Level 2 (007962) is designed for the more competitive student in both team and individual
activities. Advanced fitness conditioning and skills will be emphasized. This class is designed for more athletically
competitive and skilled students.
Exercise and Lifelong Fitness (006162)
Grades 9-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
This course is an introduction to yoga, Pilates, aerobics and step aerobics. It will include fitness education, mindfulness,
relaxation techniques, and creative movement. These activities are all geared toward life-long fitness.
Self Defense and Lifelong Fitness (006172)
Grades 9-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
This course is an introduction to self-defense. The student will be introduced to numerous strategies including avoidance,
awareness, and action. It will include fitness education, as well as a CPR/AED component. All of these components are
geared toward lifelong fitness and overall safety and well-being. This class is not a sport fighting class but more geared
towards basic knowledge of defending yourself.
Net Sports (008082)
Grades 9-12.

This course aims to teach the basic skills and rules of Tennis, Badminton, Ping-pong, Volleyball, and Pickleball. The course
is intended to help establish knowledge and skill set for beginners and/or improve the skills for advanced athletes. Students
will take part in activities that benefit overall fitness as well as various game playing and tournament scenarios.
Fall Team Sports & Fitness (005511)

This is a highly competitive course; students will participate in a variety of team sports and fitness. Competitive games and
tournaments will take place during the semester.
Fall Weight Training and Aerobics (007922)

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of strength training, cardiovascular fitness, and movement qualities.
Students will learn proper lifting techniques, safety procedures, and workout principles such as overload, and progression. The class
emphasizes the development of muscular strength, endurance, and overall fitness through resistance training using free weights,
machines, and bodyweight exercises. Students will also learn how to individualize personal goals related to health and wellness.
Beginning and Intermediate Tumbling & Gymnastics/Fitness (005515)
Grades 9-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
This course will give the student an opportunity to work on fitness through tumbling and gymnastic floor skills. Students
will be taught at their own level, whether they are beginners or have some prior experience.
