This course introduces students to three-dimensional art through the exploration of both traditional and non-traditional
materials. Media may include, but are not limited to, clay, wood, plaster, foam, and cardboard. Projects will range from realistic to
abstract and focus on the elements and principles are art and design. Students are encouraged to experiment and apply their learning to
imaginative problem solving.
Principles of Photography 1 (007112)
Grades 9-12

Discover the art of seeing through the lens! This course introduces students to the creative and technical world of digital photography
while exploring photography as a form of fine art. Students will learn to shoot with professional photography equipment, gaining
confidence in using manual settings to control exposure, aperture, shutter speed, and depth of field. Projects focus on composition,
lighting, color, texture, and perspective to help students create expressive, well-crafted images. Along the way, students will study the
work of influential photographers, explore photo editing techniques, and learn how to thoughtfully critique their own and others’
work. Experimentation, creativity, and developing a personal photographic style are at the heart of this course.
Advanced Photography (007114)

Principles of Photography 1 is a prerequisite to Advanced Photography. This course is designed for students who are motivated to
explore advanced photographic techniques and develop a personal artistic vision. Students will deepen their understanding of camera
functions, manual settings, and the full post-processing workflow. The course emphasizes refining Photoshop and editing skills,
allowing students to create professional-quality images. Students will explore a variety of photographic genres, develop cohesive
portfolios, and produce final projects suitable for exhibition, web presentation, home display, etc. Creativity, experimentation, and
personal growth are central to the course, giving each student the opportunity to strengthen their style and showcase their work.
