Financial Accounting (005011)
Grades 9-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
This course satisfies ½ credit of math related graduation requirement. This is an exploratory accounting course providing
students with the basic knowledge of the accounting cycle from business transactions to financial statements. The basic
principles will be introduced using a service business owned by a sole proprietor. Students will put this knowledge into
practical use by completing realistic simulations.
Building Wealth & Investments (005124)
Grades 9-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
This course satisfies ½ credit of math related graduation requirement. Students will study financial literacy which includes
saving, budgeting, debt, how financial markets work, investment and retirement choices, stocks, bonds, mutual funds,
investment fraud, credit, credit scoring, insurance, income taxes, consumer awareness, careers and banking activities. Students
will participate in a stock market game simulation as well as a budget challenge. In addition, this class will utilize financial
publications and welcome guest speakers from the financial world.
Marketing and Sales Program
The marketing program covers areas such as advertising, sales, market research, digital marketing and more. Students learn
key skills such as developing marketing strategies, understanding consumer behavior, creating promotional materials and
using social media for marketing purposes. Completers of this program will have the opportunity to test and gain industry
certification as a program completer. Program completers will have the opportunity to participate in the Business Internship
(Work Based Learning) program or our Career Capstone course.

This course satisfies ½ credit of math related graduation requirement. Students are introduced to basic principles of the marketing mix,
economics, entrepreneurship, marketing strategies, marketing functions, and market research. Throughout the course, students will
apply these concepts to real-world business scenarios, strengthening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They will also
develop foundational skills in communication, teamwork, and creativity through hands-on projects and case studies. Students that
participate in this course meet the introductory requirement to have the potential to compete in DECA the following year.
Sports and Entertainment Marketing (005182)
Grades 10-12
1 semester 0.5 credit
Students must have completed Marketing or AP Business with Personal Finance to be enrolled in this course. This course introduces
students to marketing in the sports and entertainment industries. Students will explore key marketing concepts such as branding,
sponsorship, endorsement, promotion, pricing, and event management, and how it applies to athletes, teams, artists, and major events.
Through real-world projects and interactive activities, students will learn how organizations build fan engagement and create
memorable experiences to drive revenue.
